Carey, a former top fashion model who stands at almost 5'10", was popular with American designers like Calvin Klein and Ralph Lauren. Her father is an accomplished geologist, who was awarded Scientist Of The Year 1979 by the Rocky Mountain Association of Geologists. Carey traveled all over due to her father's work. While she attended in the University of Colorado, Carey started modeling for a side. A representative of Ford's model agency located in New York noticed her and asked for help. Following her move to France and briefly was a resident in Paris, Bordeaux and New York and then New York, she made the decision to return home to New York and continue her education. In the next few months, Vogue, Glamour and other magazines were featured on their cover. She was a full-time student in New York University, obtaining her major in Literature while working on modeling assignments. When she began studying acting in the Neighborhood Playhouse, New York, her enthusiasm for acting increased. She had a small part on Club Paradise with Robin Williams In 1986. Her leisure time is spent in wind surfing, skiing, rock climbing and white water rafting.
